NEMA 10-30 EV Charger
We do not recommend buying this type of level 2 EV charger from third party websites.
The NEMA 10-30 plug type was common in the early 1990s but is no longer recommended and is against electrical code. The plug does not have a grounding wire which poses an electrical safety risk since for example the excess electrical charge can electrify the chassis of the vehicle. We recommend calling a licensed electrician to have this 240V plug changed. The most common EV charger that includes a ground is our NEMA 14-50 Level 2 EV charger or NEMA 14-30 level 2 EV charger. We recommend TotalEV™ which provides the fastest charging capability. A link to our level 2 NEMA 14-50 EV charger and level 2 NEMA 14-30 EV charger section is here.
