The Subaru Solterra is a fast-growing all electric vehicle, which is the first from Subaru as an all electric. The Solterra comes with a 72 kWh range, which powers the vehicle to a 222 mile all electric range. The EV charger provided with the Subaru Solterra is a level 1 EV Charger, which is not a fast enough EV charger for an all-electric vehicle. This is the manufacturer-provided Subaru Solterra charger. The Subaru Solterra has a J1772 connector for residential charging and CCS1 for commercial DC EV charging.
Subaru Solterra charging speed
The table for Subaru Soltera charging speeds below is based on an empty battery to charge to full a Subaru Solterra. In practive, most EV owners will charge from around 20% battery so the charge times below would then be quicker. Below EV charging times are based on residential charging with the most common EV plug types for level 2 EV charging. Subaru Solterra chargers can power the vehicle to a quick charge if they are a level 2 charger, which provide the fastest Subaru Solterra charging speeds and charging times
Why upgrade your EV charger?
Level 1 120 volt EV charging for a Subaru Solterra is not fast enough for most owners. It will take almost two days and will also be very expensive since the majority of the charging will be during peak hours when electricity is much more expensive (3x in most U.S. States). A level 2 EV Charger for a Solterra will be much faster and much less expensive.
Suburu Solterra charger cable length
Our Subaru Solterra compatible EV Chargers are available in two lengths of 25 feet and 32 feet. We offer EV Charger cable lengths to allow flexibility for homeowners to park on the street, driveway or garage. No more stretched cables!
Where you can charge your Subaru Solterra?
Subaru Solterras can be charged at home, at workplace or commercial locations, as well as City public charging facilities. It is a J1772 compatible EV Charger and at commercial charging stations, it will be compatible with either a J1772 level commercial EV charger or CCS1 DC commercial charging stations. All our EV chargers are J1772 compatible.
Home charger options
There are a variety of EV charging options for residential, home EV charging. Home charging offers the comfort and convenience of home EV charging and will save significant time, money and effort compared to visiting commercial charging destinations, where there are often lines, issues with payment and much higher charging fees. Once manufacturer charging credits are expired or spent, EV owners upgrade to high power 220-240 volt EV chargers. This allows for a complete charge overnight, maximizing convenience and reducing costs with a complete charge during super off peak hours.
