The Kia Niro Plug-in Hybrid, produced before 2022, marked Kia’s initial foray into the world of electric vehicles. At EV chargers, we frequently receive requests for replacements of damaged or broken Kia Niro EV chargers, often as a backup to keep in the car. Our chargers are designed to be compatible with the Kia Niro and utilize the J1772 U.S. standard connector.
Our EV chargers are lightweight, portable, and versatile, allowing you to move them as needed, whether you’re renting a new place or planning to move house. They can also be used outside of the home at locations like RV parks or other residences.
Recommendation: Given the relatively small battery size and the slower acceptance rate (how quickly the battery can accept a charge), we recommend using a level 1 NEMA 5-15 Kia Niro EV charger. This charger provides the fastest charging option available and is also a cost-effective choice compared to level 2 EV chargers, which are unnecessary for this vehicle. Charging times remain quite fast, with the car being fully charged in approximately 3.5 hours even from an empty battery (though this scenario is rare in practice). Our EV chargers can be portable or affixed to the wall as a wallbox type J1772 EV charger.
