The Mercedes S550 Hybrid bucks the current trend from Mercedes to move toward longer range plug in hybrid and all electric vehicles. The vehicles has a relatively small battery at 9 kWh and a slower on boarding charger (this limits how fast you charge the vehicle. Even if you have a level 2 EV charger, you can’t push more power into the battery. We receive requests for replacement or new Mercedes S550 EV Chargers. Our EV Chargers are light, portable and can be moved if you rent or plan to move house, as well as be used outside of the home where plugs are available e.g RV parks.
Recommendation: We recommend a level 1 EV NEMA 5-15 Mercedes S550 Hybrid EV Charger. It is cost effective and will provide the fastest available charger. Charge times are fast. It will charge the vehicle in ~2 hours from a 50% battery (in practice this happens a lot) and 3 hours from an empty battery.
