Mitsubishi launched its popular plug-in hybrid to provide a true family size SUV but also improving overall fuel ecomony with an all electric plug-in hybrid driving range. Estimates very for the range, but the EPA estimated electric driving range is 24 miles. The original Mitsubishi Outlander came with a 3.7 kWh acceptance rate (how quickly the battery can accept charge) and a 14 kWh battery. If you want to minimize wait time for a full battery and want to quickly top the battery up to maximize all electric driving, we recommend a level 2 charger. It will reduce charge times by around 50%, since a level 2 charger will be twice as fast as a regular 3 pin, level 1 EV charger. Charge times will be fast with a full charge in around 3.5 hours. Recommendation: We recommend a NEMA 14-50 40 amp 9.6 kWh Mitsubishi Outlander EV Charger. This EV charger will provide the fastest plug-in residential charge available and will also futureproof you. Charge times are the fastest possible for a residential plug in EV Charger.
