The Volt Premier is the top-of-the-line trim with a comprehensive package. Resale premiums form the Volt Premier remain high and an EPA rated 53 mile all electric range. There is a large demand for replacement Chevrolet Volt EV chargers due to the number of vehicles sold. Both the Premier and LT upgrade came with an optional 7.2 kWh on board charger, which allows for faster charging (the higher the kWh, the more power the car can accept).
Recommendation: If you have an existing NEMA 14-30 EV plug at home (sometimes in garages or workshops) use that and go for the 24 amp 5.8 kWh version. If not, we recommend a NEMA 14-50 40 amp 9.6 kWh Chevrolet Volt Premier EV charger. It will charge your Chevrolet Volt 2019 Premier at its fastest charging rate and also futureproof you for your next car. Charge times from an empty battery will be around 2.5 hours and from a 50% battery (happens more in practice) in around 1 1/4 hours.
