Nissan produced a series of Nissan electric versions. The 2017 Nissan Leaf S upgrade came with a faster 6.6 kWh on board charger to allow for faster charging in the slightly larger 30 kWh battery for more all electric range. The 6.6 kWh on board charger means a level 2 EV charger will charge the vehicle more quickly. We receive requests for replacement or new Nissan Leaf EV Chargers. Our EV Chargers are light, portable and can be moved if you rent or plan to move house, as well as be used outside of the home where plugs are available e.g RV parks. Recommendation: We recommend a level 2 NEMA 14-50 40 amp 9.6 kWh Nissan Leaf portable EV charger or a level 2 NEMA 14-30 24 amp 5.8 kWh EV Charger (check in your house as you may have one of these already). Charge times will be faster compared to a level 1 EV Charger. From a 50% battery, it will charge the vehicle to full battery in ~ 2 hours. From an empty battery (which in practice rarely happens), it will charge the car to full in ~ 4 hours.
