Make sure the plug type you choose matches the outlet type you have at home. While many outlets look similar, they are definitely not the same. The one called NEMA 5-15 is the regular 120V household outlet that all home appliances use, while other outlet types, such as the 14-50 or 6-50 (The two most popular EV Charging Outlets), get installed specifically for appliances or EV Chargers that require 240V. That said, there are more 240V outlet types that are commonly used, such as the NEMA 14-30, 6-30, 6-20, L14-30, and more.

The Toyota RAV4 Prime has gained significant popularity as a groundbreaking SUV plug-in hybrid, particularly for its impressive all-electric range and exclusive all-wheel drive configuration. With excellent specifications and A+ acceleration, it's a common sight on the roads of California and other states. The EPA estimates the RAV4 Prime's all-electric range at an impressive 42 miles (mostly on highways) and 38 miles in combined city/highway driving. The availability of a 6.6-kilowatt charger upgrade enables 240-volt charging, significantly reducing charging times. It's important to note that the hardware for faster 240-volt charging is typically sold separately. In response to the demand for faster charging solutions, we offer a range of level 1 and level 2 J1772 Toyota RAV4 Prime EV chargers. Our recommendation is as follows: If you require fast charging during the day, live at a distance from commercial charging stations, or frequently make short-distance trips and want to ensure your vehicle is fully charged before heading out again, we highly recommend either our Toyota RAV4 Prime NEMA 14-50, 40-amp, 9.6 kWh EV charger or our NEMA 14-20, 24-amp, 5.8 kWh EV charger (some homeowners may already have this plug type). These chargers provide the fastest EV plug-in charging times and are designed to futureproof your charging needs. Charging from empty is swift, with an approximate charge time of around 3 hours (1.5 hours from a 50% battery) achievable with a NEMA 14-50, 40-amp, 9.6 kWh charger. Additionally, all our EV chargers adhere to the SAE J1772 standard, ensuring compatibility with your Toyota RAV4 Prime.

We bought a Toyota Prime with the faster charging power. We needed a level 2 charger and found the AEFA ev charger. The product is sturdy, compact and easy to use. We find it really intuitive and perfect for the plug-in type ev charger that we sought. Once the EV plug was installed by the electrician, this was in and working in minutes
