Make sure the plug type you choose matches the outlet type you have at home. While many outlets look similar, they are definitely not the same. The one called NEMA 5-15 is the regular 120V household outlet that all home appliances use, while other outlet types, such as the 14-50 or 6-50 (The two most popular EV Charging Outlets), get installed specifically for appliances or EV Chargers that require 240V. That said, there are more 240V outlet types that are commonly used, such as the NEMA 14-30, 6-30, 6-20, L14-30, and more.

The car that started it all. Toyota along with Nissan was groundbreaking in the introduction of electric vehicles to North America. Eco friendly with an EV drive mode with larger more comfortable size, the Prius Prime EV offers an EPA estimated 25 mile pure electric range. Very popular amongst Toyota loyalists, there are many of these vehicles on the road. The vehicle comes with a 3.3 kWh on board battery charger (how quickly you can charge the vehicle) and a 9 KwH battery (could be bigger - hopefully the next one will!). Our EV Chargers are light, portable and can be moved if you rent or plan to move house, as well as be used outside of the home where plugs are available e.g RV parks or other residences. Recommendation: If you just bought your Prius Prime (new or old) or are replacing a broken charger, we would recommend a level 1 NEMA 5-15 EV Charger. This is the most cost effective EV charger given the relatively small battery size. The charge times are fast even with this 120 Volt, level 1 EV charger, which will charge the vehicle in ~ 3.5 hours from empty and 1.3/4 hours from a 50% depleted battery
