Hyundai launched the Sonata plug-in hybrid vehicle in 2019. It comes with a reasonable 10 -kilowatt-hour battery pack providing an EPA estimated 28 miles of all-electric range, more than enough for a typical commute. Unfortunately, Hyundai decided not to update the latest Sonata with a plug-in hybrid option, instead focusing on future pure electric models. At EV chargers, we have a range of level 1 and level 2 (240 volt) Hyundai Sonata EV chargers and many purchases are for replacement or broken EV chargers. Recommendation: We recommend a level 1 NEMA 5-15 Hyundai Sonata EV Chargers. Given the small battery, a level 2 EV charger is unnecessary extra expense since it will not speed up charging. Charge times are still fast. From a 50% battery, full charge will be in around 2 hours.
