Make sure the plug type you choose matches the outlet type you have at home. While many outlets look similar, they are definitely not the same. The one called NEMA 5-15 is the regular 120V household outlet that all home appliances use, while other outlet types, such as the 14-50 or 6-50 (The two most popular EV Charging Outlets), get installed specifically for appliances or EV Chargers that require 240V. That said, there are more 240V outlet types that are commonly used, such as the NEMA 14-30, 6-30, 6-20, L14-30, and more.

Nissan continues its innovation with the all new Nissan Leaf Pure Electric. Nissan offers in two sizes and the long battery range vehicle with the 60 kWh larger lithium ion battery will prove popular (as will the more SUV like design). The 40 kWh is the standard entry model and will prove a hit amongst Nissan lovers due to the extra pure electric, anxiety free range it will provide. It provides a total EPA estimated 149 miles range. We receive requests for replacement or new Nissan Leaf EV Chargers. Our EV Chargers are light, portable and can be moved if you rent or plan to move house, as well as be used outside of the home where plugs are available e.g RV parks. Recommendation: If you do not live near a large commercial EV charging station, prefer to charge from home or prefer to charge completely overnight when electricity is cheaper (~40% cheaper in most states), then we would recommend a Nissan Leaf NEMA 14-50 40 amp 9.6 kWh charger. If you have an existing 14-30 plug type (some garages have these), it will save on installation costs but the charge will be slower than what the Nissan Leaf is capable of charging at. The NEMA 14-50 40 Amp 9.6 kWh Nissan Leaf EV charger will offer the fastest EV charger and also futureproof for your next vehicle. Charge times are the fast available. A NEMA 14-50 40 amp 9.6 kWh charger will charge the vehicle in ~ 9 hours (4 1/4 hours from a 50% battery). Unfortunately it cannot be charged faster due to the current battery acceptance rate. All chargers are the U.S. standard connector J1772 to connect to your Nissan Leaf EV
