Is there an alternative plug type to a NEMA 14-50 level 2 EV charger?
Yes, we also sell NEMA 6-50 level 2 EV chargers. We do not sell NEMA 10-50 level 2 EV chargers since they are not grounded and are a safety hazard.
Is NEMA 14-50 level 2 EV charger the fastest charger you sell?
Yes. The only alternative is an EV wall charger box but this requires direct wiring into a panel box, installation, a larger footprint and an electrician. It also may not add range per hour of charging since most batteries cannot accept the additional charge. If you have an existing NEMA 14-50 plug, you may plug our charger into that.
What is the approximate range from a NEMA 14-50 level 2 EV charger?
A NEMA 14-50 EV charger (assuming you purchase the top ampere 40 amp charge), will provide an output of 9.2 to 9.6 kWh. Assuming your car battery can accept a 9.2 to 9.6 kilowatts per hour charge, this will provide around ~15-20 miles per hour of charge.
What is the price difference for a NEMA 14-50 level 2 EV charge compared to level 1 (standard 3 pin charger)?
The price difference is typically $200-$250 depending on power level (amperes). It is a good value since it will charge your car 3-5x faster, especially in new EVs with larger batteries.
