The Mazda EV range use the Type 1 SAE J1772 charger connector type for Level 2 charging, which is the standard for most EVs in the U.S. The charger connector is the port head which connects the charging head into the charging port of the Mazda. The location of the charge port differs by model, the MX-30 charging port is located at the front left side of the vehicle on the driver’s side, whereas the CX90 is located at the rear left side of the vehicle. Uncommonly for EVs, the maximum alternating current (AC) of the CX-90 PHEV is 7.2kWh which exceeds the full electric MX-30 which provides an AC of 6.6kWh.
