Volvo combines Scandanavian design with luxury and now electric vehicles. Volvo will continue to extend its European fleet to the North American market. We provide EV chargers for Volvo’s most popular models in including the XC40, C40 Recharge, XC90, S60 and S90 Sedan Recharge EVs. Volvo now has an established range of plug-in hybrid and electric range of vehicles, we receive requests for EV chargers for new Volvos and used Volvo EVs when a replacement or faster portable EV charger is needed. Many owners prefer to make their own choice in EV chargers rather than 3rd party auto manufacturer affiliations, which can be much more expensive. Volvo all electric vehicle have large batteries and charging capablities, so we recommend our level 2 NEMA 14-50 9.6 kWh Volvo EV charger, which can be fixed to the wall, mobile or portable. Like many manufacturers, Volvo is less focused on residential charging solutions and so many customers use our service to find the right EV charger and installation options.
Volvo has become a major player in the electric vehicle and plug in hybrid electric vehicle market. Since 2018, Volvo has been true to its Swedish routes and launched many plug-in and electric vehicle models. We sell many EV chargers for Volvos.

A Level 1 5-15 EV charger is a 3-pin residential plug type whereas both Level 2 chargers are 4-pin EV plugs, which supply a higher voltage of output.

The table shows the fastest home Volvo EV Charger is a Level 2 NEMA 14-50 EV charger.
The Volvo EV range uses the J1772 Type 1 Charger connector which is the North America charging standard, which is currently the main connector type for all non Tesla electric vehicles.
Volvo EV models are currently non-compatible with NACs charger connectors which is the Tesla standard charger types. All our level 1 and level 2 EV chargers are J1772 compatible with the Volvo range.
Most homeowners generally prefer to install a home level 2 Volvo EV charger. It is much more convenient and hassle free compared to commercial charging stations since the homeowner can charge overnight when the car is not needed.. Using a Level 2 Volvo EV home charger will reduce the cost of charging significantly. Generally a home charge will cost around $10 per charge, compared to ~ $30 at a commercial charging station.
All Volvo EV models support home charging, Level 2 commercial charging or even charging at your place of work. NEMA 14-50 charger connectors are compatible with most public facilities and are also commonly found in campgrounds or RV parks where charging overnight is possible.
The charging costs of your Volvo or an EV is dependent on your State with electricity costs varying significantly across the country. It is certainly better to charge you Volvo overnight.
