The TT-30 120 volt plug receptacle is a common plug type found in many national parks, campgrounds, recreational RV parks and other outdoor stay facilities. The use of a dedicated TT-30 plug type avoids the use of adapters and extension cables, which are less safe since the EV charger loses its ground detection capability. Compatible with any 120 volt, 1-pole 30 amp outlet The power on the EV-charger can be set to 12, 16 and 20 amps so as not to overload the circuit and trip the circuit breaker or wiring. These amps are also the levels that most EVs will allow when the voltage is 120 (current limited by the car). Most car manufacturers limit 120 volt charging to 12, 16 or 20 amps due to software-imposed limitations and standard for the J1772 or Tesla connector. For most vehicles this would provide 4-8 miles of range per hour of charging.
