Which vehicles use CHAdeMO?
CHAdeMO is a fast-charging standard primarily used by electric vehicles like the Nissan Leaf, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, and earlier Kia Soul EV models. This DC charging format was one of the first on the market and remains supported by a wide range of public EV fast chargers. If your EV uses CHAdeMO, you’ll need a CHAdeMO adapter to access newer CCS charging stations.
Is CHAdeMO compatible with all EVs?
No, not all EVs are compatible with CHAdeMO. Most newer electric vehicles in North America use CCS1 (Combined Charging System) or Tesla’s NACS connector. CHAdeMO is only compatible with specific models like the Nissan Leaf and Mitsubishi Outlander. To charge at CCS stations, a CHAdeMO to CCS1 adapter is required.
Can I use a CHAdeMO adapter in rainy weather?
Yes, you can use a CHAdeMO adapter in rainy weather. Most high-quality adapters, like our CHAdeMO to CCS1/J1772 Adapter, are IP54-rated for water and dust resistance. This makes them safe for outdoor charging in light rain or wet conditions.
What warranty does EV Chargers provide?
We offer a 12-month warranty for peace of mind.
