Choosing the right plug for your home

Make sure the plug type you choose matches the outlet type you have at home. While many outlets look similar, they are definitely not the same. The one called NEMA 5-15 is the regular 120V household outlet that all home appliances use, while other outlet types, such as the 14-50 or 6-50 (The two most popular EV Charging Outlets), get installed specifically for appliances or EV Chargers that require 240V. That said, there are more 240V outlet types that are commonly used, such as the NEMA 14-30, 6-30, 6-20, L14-30, and more.

Do you need a faster charge for your car? Try our NEMA 14-50 Level 2 EV chargers, a high power charging solution for your home or on the go, free shipping included!

Customer Reviews

  1. Jason

Great EV Chargers. Arrived quickly and product seems to be good quality.

  2. M. Gonzalez

Ordered 14-50 EV charger from ev-chargers.com. Product is great quality.

  3. Margarita D.

We got a portable 14-50 EV charger for our Hyundai Ioniq 5. Easy to connect the plug we had installed and giving a reliable 40 amp charger. Per our electrician make sure you have grounded NEMA 14-50 plug and not an older plug that is not grounded

  4. Zachary

Overall we like this charger. Easy to use, came with a nice mount to keep everything tidy. We bought it for our new Hyundai Kona since we wanted a faster charger. Arrived a couple of days later than we expected.

  5. Beau

Upgraded to a 40 amp circuit at home to charge my 2022 Ioniq 5. Ordered and received this charger quickly. Since more amps are coming in, of course the cord is much heavier – feels very robust. All the materials are equal if not or better than the charger my Ioniq came with. I do like the fact it has a LCD display to show the time it took to charge, watts used, etc. although this wasn’t a requirement for me. It has also performed fine in the rain and snow. My Ioniq now charges in less than 6 hours! Nice free accessories too!

  6. L&J H.

We had a friend put in the 220v and it charges our Rav 4 in no time. We had put up with level 1 cord trickle charging on our other EV’s and we now wish we would have done this SO MUCH SOONER!! My husband door dashes and he loves saving money on his hybrid with a quick charge so its powered up for the next ride, instead of using gas

  7. PV

I use this charger for 6 months with absolutely no problems on my wife’s 2021 Kona EV. Then it started to flash a yellow fault light. I got a hold of customer services and after a few emails back and forth troubleshooting, and a video, we were unable to get it work. This company stands behind its product, had replacement inventory, and was able to resolve my problem quickly and efficiently.

  8. Rez

Fast charging so far! Easy to use and intuitive.

  9. Sam K.

Easy enough to install and came with clear instructions. The charging light is very clear and can be seen from a distance. Had the AEFA EV charger a couple of months now and no complaints.

  10. Subin

The company had a sale discount on 10/27. We had looked at other EV chargers but landed on AEFA for our Kia Sorento. The charger has extra long cable and nice features such as power adjustment, delayed charging and a working ground feature. Happy with this.

  11. Mark (verified owner)

I like that I can take this charger with me and it has variable current settings.

  12. Jay Wagner (verified owner)

I had to return a 32 ft cable because it didn’t work. Victoria was great help in making sure that my order for replacement cable was ordered properly and in the way. The cables I bought direct from EV Chargers have worked well. The one I did through Amazon Prime was the one that didn’t function when I received it. In the end I received a working cable and everything is great.
