Make sure the plug type you choose matches the outlet type you have at home. While many outlets look similar, they are definitely not the same. The one called NEMA 5-15 is the regular 120V household outlet that all home appliances use, while other outlet types, such as the 14-50 or 6-50 (The two most popular EV Charging Outlets), get installed specifically for appliances or EV Chargers that require 240V. That said, there are more 240V outlet types that are commonly used, such as the NEMA 14-30, 6-30, 6-20, L14-30, and more.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has hit the U.S. market with huge success. The Ioniq 5 has multiple features including the ability to power electronics, tools and other equipment from the car's battery. It first arrived in 2022 and has a beautiful exterior styling along with award winning infotainment displays. Like with many EVs on the market, Hyundai offers a long range battery option with a 72 kWh lithium ion battery. The standard 10.9kW on-board charger uses Level 2 charging, especially for the larger Ioniq battery. Many Ioniq owners seek a powerful level 2 EV Charger. Our EV Chargers are light, portable and can be moved if you rent or plan to move house, as well as be used outside of the home where plugs are available e.g RV parks. Recommendation: We recommend our level 2 NEMA 14-50 (Tesla EV plug) 40 amp 9.6 kWh Hyundai Ioniq EV charger. Charge times are fast. A NEMA 14-50 40 amp will provide 9.6kw to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and is the fastest available portable plug-in charger. From a 50% battery (in practice when most EV owners charge-up), the car will fully charge in around 3.5 hours.

Excellent product. If you already have a 240 volt receptacle, installation is quite simple. The device itself is easy to operate, with intuitive controls and an easy-to-read display. The rate at which you can charge is dependent on the available amperage of your home and the burden you place on it. We just plug in our EV after 10 PM and by morning it is fully charged. This is a no-brainer” alternative to those expensive “charging stations” that car dealerships recommend.
